RN - Neuro Stepdown, FT Nights

About the role

This position utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care at Mercy Hospital South (10010 Kennerly Rd., St. Louis, MO). The RN maintains professional accountability for assigned patients, evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers, coordinates care with other departments, and upholds patient rights and confidentiality. All duties are performed in alignment with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards. Open to new graduate and experienced nurses (1+ year), with sign‑on bonuses available.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Maintain professional accountability for the provision of care to assigned patients
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
• Perform duties consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards

RN Residency Program

New graduate nurses are supported through a comprehensive 8–16 week residency designed to transition from student to practicing nurse with structured, hands‑on training.

• Hands‑on clinical training on the unit with experienced nurse mentors
• One‑on‑one mentoring and preceptor support
• Classroom learning and structured training sessions focused on key nursing skills and patient care scenarios
• Leadership guidance and coaching from nurse educators and unit leaders
• A supportive learning environment where questions are encouraged and growth is prioritized

Compensation

• Sign‑on bonus up to $5,000 for new graduate RNs
• Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 for experienced nurses (1+ year of experience)
