RN - Neonatal ICU (NICU)

Fairview Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) delivers 24-hour neonatology services, evidence-based nursing practice, and advanced respiratory care such as high-frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide to ill neonates and extremely low birth weight infants.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to neonates.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Administer medication and treatments.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ condition.
• Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA).
• One year of experience in an acute care hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Adult ICU or Medical/Surgical experience.
• NICU experience.

Physical Requirements

Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree; may involve pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; or working at a production rate pace entailing constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight is negligible.

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50 | Maximum hourly: $55.60. Actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education; does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.

Schedule

Day/night rotating shift every six weeks, 7:00 am–7:30 pm and 7:00 pm–7:30 am, with weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements.
