Unit Highlights

4 South Multi-System PCU with cardiac focus. Located on the 4th floor of Altamonte's main tower. A 36-bed unit focusing on patients with diagnoses such as CHF, Stoke, Renal Failure, and Diabetes. A diverse, collaborative, and teamwork-centered environment with a current nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5 and support staff including PCT and Nurse Techs. Features a unit educator for maintaining CEUs and a daily energizer for communication. Epic is used as the charting system and Rover technology facilitates communication and documentation.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

What You'll Need To Succeed

• Ancillary qualifications include an Associate of Science degree in Nursing, current State of Florida or Multistate licensure as a Registered Nurse, minimum of six (6) months of experience as a Registered Nurse, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
