Job Description

The Stroke Telemetry Unit is a high-acuity, fast-paced medical-surgical environment specializing in the care of acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. It is a 34-bed unit designed to deliver evidence-based, protocol-driven care with a strong focus on patient safety, rapid intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

RN Responsibilities & Expectations

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond to changes in real-time.
• Ensure compliance with stroke core measures, including dysphagia screening, education, and care plans.
• Administer medications using BCMA standards, focusing on safety and accuracy.
• Care for interdisciplinary teams, including providers, therapy, and case management.
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover environment.
• Maintain a constant focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and patient safety.
