About the role
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Mother Baby Postpartum, you will provide direct nursing care following hospital policies and protocols. You will work closely with the clinical team to create and implement individualized care plans, coordinate unit activities, and ensure accountability of all assigned tasks. Must be willing to work other areas of Women's Services.
- Full-time: 36 hours per week with rotating weekends and holidays
- Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Self-scheduling available
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions using computerized documentation systems
- Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
- Instruct and educate patients and family members
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions or hold a multi-state privilege under the Nurse Licensure Compact Agreement without established permanent residency in Virginia
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonate Resuscitate certification must be obtained within 12 months of start date
