About the role

As a Registered Nurse at Medical City Dallas, you’ll have all the staffing support, technology and resources you need to deliver safe, high-quality care—so you can focus on what you do best. Under general supervision, the Staff RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. In collaboration with patient, patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN is responsible for assessing the nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care.

Responsibilities

The RN provides direct care and/or supervises nursing care of non-licensed nursing staff. The RN is responsible for providing care consistent with the Nursing Department’s policies, procedures and standards of practice. RN’s are responsible for providing care, which is appropriate to the age specific (infant, adolescent, and adult patients), developmental and safety needs of the assigned patient population. In addition to the RN duties and responsibilities, the RN scope includes charge duties. The charge nurse makes patient assignments, and supervises and directs the staff and unit activities for the assigned shift.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support Required
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• STABLE must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position
• Couplet Care experience preferred
