Overview
Piedmont Athens Regional, a primary Stroke center, houses a DNV Stroke Certified Neuro Science floor. It is a 30-bed acute care facility specializing in Stroke, Spinal injuries, head injuries, and pre and post-op surgical needs. The nursing staff here are NIHSS-assessment certified and participate in the Georgia stroke class curriculum. This is a fast-paced, inpatient unit caring for patients throughout their recovery journey. Our team includes a Stroke Coordinator, Physical Therapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), Respiratory Therapy, Physicians, Case Management, Social Work, Secretarial support, Phlebotomy services, lift teams, IV teams, STAT teams, and Pharmacy.
Responsibilities
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. They function within the framework of the organization's policies and procedures and demonstrate professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
Required: Bachelors Degree
Preferred: Bachelors Degree
Work Experience: No experience required
New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
Required Nursing Experience: In a hospital setting
Preferred: 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
Licenses and Certifications: RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License
BCLS - Basic Life Support
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
