About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical Nursing provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to adults with acute and chronic medical conditions in an inpatient medical setting. This role involves thorough assessments, evidence-based interventions, and coordination of care plans to support stabilization, recovery, and safe transitions. The RN collaborates with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams to promote high-quality outcomes in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing assessments and monitor vital signs, clinical status, and responses to treatment, intervening promptly when changes occur.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to established standards and provider orders.
- Coordinate individualized care plans with interdisciplinary partners, supporting patient education, discharge readiness, and chronic disease management.
- Document assessments, interventions, and communications accurately in the electronic health record to ensure continuity and regulatory compliance.
- Support safe delegation to LPNs, CNAs, and other team members while maintaining accountability for overall patient care.
- Participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives, contributing to continual improvement in patient outcomes and care processes.
