Responsibilities
- Apply highly technical principles, concepts, and techniques central to the nursing profession
- Exercise independent, professional judgment on clinical issues; seek supervisory input when needed
- Comply with all safety and infection control policies to prevent injury to patients, employees, or self; institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patient conditions
- Manage department supplies and equipment; adhere to efficient time management and utilization of patient resources
- Maintain continuous interface with fellow employees, physicians, patients, and community agencies
- Work with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in a modern, well-equipped environment; handle exposure to aggressive and violent outbursts and physical harm from non-compliant patients
- Work weekends, irregular hours, and holidays; subject to extended hours with prolonged standing/walking
- Assist with lifting and moving patients; require manual dexterity and mobility; occasionally lift supplies/equipment; use personal protective equipment when required
- Exercise frequent independent judgment and handle clinical situations requiring sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills, including clinical assessment, data, and patient response
- Provide quality patient care; continuously prioritize multiple duties; function calmly and professionally during stressful situations
- Utilize assessment, reassessment, and critical-thinking skills to manage changes in patient outcomes; require basic computer skills
- Demonstrate general knowledge of professional nursing principles, techniques, and the pharmacological process for appropriate medication administration
