Responsibilities
- The Med/Surg RN prescribes interventions, delegates tasks, and coordinates care of assigned patients.
- Gives direction and supervision to ancillary staff.
- Provides individualized patient care.
- Uses the nursing (problem solving) process with age‑appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of South Carolina.
- BLS/CPR required; ACLS preferred.
- Clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- High level of interpersonal skills needed to ensure patient cooperation with the medical and nursing plan of care.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to apply problem solving skills to all situations.
- Ability to cope with high stress levels when dealing with patients, families, physicians, and other staff.
