RN - Med/Surg (CNA) Full-time, Night shift

Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. About the role

Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. Coordinate, manage, provide and delegate patient care. Responsible for meeting the established Standards of Nursing Practice, and promoting cooperation among the health care team. This position is represented by CNA.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of nursing
• One-year recent acute care RN experience
• Current RN license in state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy

Responsibilities

• Assure patients' personal needs are met
• Assist in reducing noise level of nursing unit
• Show commitment to co-workers and work as a team to assure all patients have their needs met
• Maintain patient, co-worker, and hospital privacy
• Documentation is clear, concise, and legible
• Deliver a clear, concise report
• Complete all assigned quality monitors as directed by department manager
• Follow infection control guidelines
• Obtain history/physical assessment according to unit specific nursing protocol for all age groups
• Review medical history, physical examination, and all available assessment data
• Identify abnormal diagnostic data and report to appropriate person
• Provide information needed to begin discharge planning in a timely manner, and to the appropriate personnel
• Recognize signs and symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress, or other impending emergencies
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to effectively function in Code Blue and other emergency situations
• Accurately administer and chart medications according to hospital policies and procedures adhering to patient’s rights
• Implement and/or assist others in implementation and documentation of planned education
• Assess patient’s educational needs
• Assist in the development and education of new staff members
• Attend and participate in staff meetings
• Complete education, training, and competencies for department specific skills
• Successfully adapt to changes in the unit, environment, and work flow
• Assure all patient charge items are charged and documented correctly
• Utilize department resources appropriately
• Minimize incidental overtime
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $52.17 to $83.56 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
