Job Description

The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) provides nursing care to patients, conducting systematic assessments, administering medications, planning care, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes. This role requires competency in nursing practice, leadership, and professional profile competencies.

Essential Functions

• Conducts systematic, continuous, and comprehensive assessments of patient health status.
• Administers medications per licensure authority and documents administration accurately.
• Plans care using current scientific knowledge and incorporates data from the multi-disciplinary care team.
• Identifies and prioritizes patient problems, reflecting sensitivity to age, learning needs, and cultural background.
• Achieves desired outcomes by assessing, conducting, and evaluating patient and family teaching.
• Assesses, conducts, and evaluates the outcomes of patient and family teaching, revising the plan of care as needed.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families, preparing them for discharge and obtaining feedback.
• Works collaboratively with unlicensed assistive healthcare providers, ensuring safe patient care delivery.

• Orients new members of the healthcare team and supervises students.
