RN Manager - Medical Transition Management (F/T Days)

About the role

The CNM ensures the delivery of quality patient care to a defined group of patients; maintains staffing at an appropriate level; assures adequate skills and abilities to meet patient problems; maintains financial control of unit; collaborates and maintains open communication with medical staff, administration, and staff; monitors appropriate utilization of resources in the provision of care; assures regulations and standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the quality of care of patients;
  • Delegates appropriately and directs staff in the delivery of care;
  • Assumes responsibility for the appropriate utilization of resources;
  • Collaborates with medical staff and others in the provision of care;
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with others in communication and problem resolution;
  • Sensitive to the needs of patients, families, and fellow co-workers;
  • Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with age specific needs;
  • Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with any identified cultural diversity needs, (such as religions, lifestyles, beliefs, physical capabilities and cultures);
  • Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients by assuring appropriate and effective pain management;
  • Assesses, reports, and assists any patients that present with evidence of abuse and/or neglect;
  • Supports the mission of Mercy Hospital.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN or complete in the next 2 years (already enrolled if possible).
  • Licensure: Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing in the applicable state of practice.
  • Experience: Four (4) years of experience in clinical specialty or related area. Able to apply principles of management, co-worker supervision, teaching, performance improvement, and budget.
  • Basic computer skills including data entry, Windows, and MS Office are required.
  • Certifications: CPR NRP

Preferred

  • Education: BS/MS preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
