Responsibilities

  • Assists DON/CNO in directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising nursing operations.
  • Oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional manner.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to meet residents' needs.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and nursing practice standards.
  • Manages nursing staff and other staff, coordinating care between departments and disciplines.
  • Analyzes information to choose solutions for problem-solving.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Develops and implements educational or training programs for others.
  • Prepares reports to inform management about unit status and initiatives.
  • Performs administrative or managerial functions such as budget planning and expenditure authorization.
  • Provides direct care as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.
  • Current registered nursing license in the State of facility required.
  • Three years of registered nursing experience strongly preferred.
  • Two years of registered nursing experience required.
  • Two years of prior experience as a registered nurse with the facility's patient population preferred.
  • One year of prior experience with the facility's patient population required.
  • Prior experience as a house supervisor preferred.
  • One year of charge RN or other administrative experience required.
  • Current RN license as required by state.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
