RN Labor Delivery part time evenings
Description
Provides quality patient centered care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and patient needs. On the unit, there are 12 LDRs, 4 High Risks Rooms, 7 Bed Triage Areas, 6 Ante partum Rooms, 3 C/Section Rooms, and 4 Bed PACU. The treatment team includes RNs, Surgical Technicians, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Clerks.
The shift team consists of 24/7 in-house providers including Obstetricians, Midwives, OB residents, Pediatricians, Neonatologists, Anesthesiologists, CRNA, Maternal Fetal Medicine. Orientation includes an OB Core Course provided as part of the orientation.
Shifts Available
Shifts available: Part-time evenings, 24 hours per week.
Status
Status: Full time, Part time, Every other weekend and every other holiday per year required for full-time and part-time team members.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a school of nursing resulting in the ability to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse.
- BSN preferred for new graduate nurses.
- New graduate nurses require licensure examination scheduled within 45 days of hire.
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- BLS and ACLS required for certain departments: Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.
- Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses encouraged to apply.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Effective January 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN degree or agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
- Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and age-specific needs.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
