About the Role
The LDRP Clinical Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients, applying social, biological, and physical sciences to the nursing process. This role manages patient care in alignment with evidence-based practices, policies, and the organization’s mission and values. Responsibilities include assisting with labor, cesarean, and vaginal births, neonatal and maternal assessments, and supporting patient safety and comfort throughout the healthcare continuum.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care, including assessments, documentation, and education.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Respond to maternal and neonatal emergencies, utilizing SBAR communication.
- Perform skills such as medication administration, teaching, and supportive care.
- Delegate and supervise nursing tasks, evaluate care effectiveness, and modify plans accordingly.
- Act as patient advocate, respecting rights and facilitating informed decisions.
- Maintain competencies, participate in team collaboration, and adhere to hospital policies and standards like the Baby-Friendly model.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent (with completion within 5 years if not held at hire).
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum nursing; NICU/Nursery experience preferred.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP; specialty certifications preferred.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) and basic computer skills are advantageous.
