Job Summary

As a PRN Position for Night shifts, this role aims to reduce stroke response times and improve patient outcomes through cutting-edge technology and enhanced recovery programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position
• Current TX RN License or RN multi-state compact license
• Current American Heart Association BLS provider ACLS and NRP required within 3 months of hire
• Interns must complete NRP within 3 months of hire and ACLS within one year of hire
• Must successfully complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire or provide documentation of completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course or the AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course
• C-EFM preferred

About the Role

Responsible for consistent, safe, high quality care of all laboring patients assigned from admission to post delivery. Familiar with vaginal and C-section births, fetal monitoring, and provide care for patients who receive various types of anesthesia. Demonstrates expertise in providing care for patients during PACU period and newborn care first two hours of life.

What You'll Be Doing

Consistently provides safe, high quality care to laboring patients. Monitors and manages fetal heart rates. Administers anesthesia and monitors patients under anesthesia. Provides care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Provides newborn care within the first two hours of life.

What You'll Need

Recent L&D experience is required. Must be able to pass AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire or provide documentation of completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course or the AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course. Must have current Texas RN License or RN multi-state compact license. Must have current American Heart Association BLS provider ACLS and NRP certifications within 3 months of hire. Interns must complete NRP within 3 months of hire and ACLS within one year of hire.
