Job Summary

As an Interventional Radiology RN, use nursing expertise to deliver patient care with the healthcare team. Tasks include evaluating health, identifying issues, creating care plans, and tracking treatment responses. Help patients navigate their healthcare safely and use knowledge of needs to prevent issues.

Essential Functions Of The Role

  • Prioritize patient and family needs; develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans; adjust as needed.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff; uphold confidentiality and voice patient concerns when necessary.
  • Manage learning for patients and families; support nursing staff growth and knowledge sharing within the healthcare team and community.
  • Partner effectively with team members and the community to implement a cohesive care plan.
  • Recognize limited resources and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care.
  • Encourage professional growth by fostering a positive work environment and supporting peers’ development.
  • Participate in continued education and community service.

Key Success Factors

  • Basic understanding of patient care practices, medical terminology, medications, and equipment used in interventional radiology nursing.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse groups.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving for optimal patient care.
  • Ability to track changes in patients’ health and communicate effectively with nurses and doctors.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of electronic medical documentation systems and email.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Registered Nurse license
  • 2 years’ experience in ICU or ED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain within 30 days of hire
