RN Inpatient Rehab (Nights)
About the Role
Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse (In-patient Rehab) to join the team at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida. This full-time position is for night shifts.
Nemours Children's Hospital is a 100-bed pediatric facility featuring the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed exclusively for children, along with outpatient pediatric clinics offering specialties previously unavailable in the region. The hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to children in Central Florida and beyond.
Responsibilities
The "Practice of professional nursing" includes, but is not limited to:
- Observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
- Health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirm, and promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness.
- Administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Supervision and teaching of other personnel in the performance of nursing acts.
Clinical Judgment
- Utilize policies, procedures, guidelines, and reliable methods to make clinical practice decisions.
- Independently develop, implement, evaluate, and modify clinical practice using formal knowledge, critical thinking, and nursing skills.
- Collect and interpret complex patient data to make clinical decisions that meet individual patient and family needs.
- Recognize and respond to dynamic situations while exercising clinical judgment based on an immediate grasp of the whole picture for the assigned patient population.
- Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration, seek expert consultation, and delegate to other clinicians as appropriate, using evidence-based guidelines.

- Assess patients' and families' readiness to learn.
- Utilize patient teaching plans that incorporate evidence-based practice and evaluate effectiveness.
- Seek out a mentor to facilitate individual professional growth.
- Serve as a mentor, coach, or preceptor based on unit needs and individual preferences and/or abilities.
Requirements
- ASN required.
- Active Florida or multi-state RN license required.
- National certification in area of clinical specialty preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of RN experience required; experience in a pediatric specialty area preferred.
- The following must be obtained within 30 days of hire:
- Valid American Heart Association BLS Certification.
- Valid American Heart Association PALS certification.
