RN – Inpatient NEW Hospitalist IMC (C2/6)

About the role

You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI. Pay: Additional components of compensation may include: Evening and night shift differential Weekend differential.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a state-of-the-art 16-bed hospitalist intermediate care unit
  • Provide comprehensive, high-acuity nursing care to adults with various medical diagnoses, complex comorbidities, or hemodynamic instability
  • Serve patients transitioning from ICU to intermediate care environment
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth, safe transitions between levels of care
  • Achieve learning opportunities and advance clinical practice through evidence-based problem-solving and critical thinking

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience in inpatient units and central float (adult & pediatric), venous access team (VAT), radiology, hemodialysis, cardiovascular laboratory
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Required ACLS within 6 months

Qualifications

  • Preferred work experience in inpatient units and central float (adult & pediatric), venous access team (VAT), radiology, hemodialysis, cardiovascular laboratory
  • Preferred relevant RN experience
  • Preferred relevant certification

Schedule

8/12 hour evening/night shift, 7:00pm – 7:30am. Weekend and holiday rotation.
