Department Details
The 7CD unit is a hybrid facility, comprising half a traditional medical-surgical unit and the other half a locked and surveilled area for mental health patients. This unit specializes in alcohol detoxification, managing suicidal ideations and overdoses, and treating conditions such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and medication adjustments. Patients may be discharged to their homes or to residential treatment centers.
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for applying the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver personalized care to patients. They collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, to develop and execute care plans. The RN ensures that patients receive comprehensive care across all stages of prevention, maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. They coordinate care, perform assessments, educate patients, manage triage, and engage in various other nursing interventions. The RN must operate within the scope and standards of nursing practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and relevant administrative rules in their state of practice.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including AACN, ACEN, and NLN CNEA.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is preferred.
- Currently hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing occurs, or have multistate licensure in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Pay & Schedule
The salary range for this position is $34,000 to $48,000 annually, with a sign-on bonus available to eligible candidates. The shift is a day shift, and the schedule is full-time with 36 weekly hours.
