RN Inpatient - Admissions Unit - Nights
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients. They collaborate with other inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care. They care for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move along the continuum of care. They function within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, AACN, ACEN, and NLN CNEA.
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

About the Role
The first 12 -24 hours after admission is the most critical time during a patient’s inpatient stay. During this time, not only is their care initiated, the patient will be given an assessment of what other possible issues may exist. Our admission nurse position is being created to develop experts at delivering the first 12-24 hours of care. We want a team who prides themselves on creating a positive patient experience while delivering exceptional care during our admitted patients most vulnerable time in the hospital.
Shifts
Shifts: 12 hour nights. Every third weekend, every other holiday.
