RN Infusion Weekends Part Time

This position is a mixed Weekend/Weekday role for an Oncology Infusion Nurse at the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion. We provide transplants/cell therapies and various cancer treatments and supportive care for patients with hematologic diagnoses.

We treat cancer using the latest technologies and treatments including gene sequencing of tumors, targeted therapy, and advanced oncology surgery techniques. We use a team approach to care, bringing together different areas of expertise that specialize in any type of cancer.

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
• Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program
• LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan (Upon Hire)
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross (90 Days required)
• CRT-Oncology Nursing Society - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate course completion (Required for RNs working in departments where chemotherapy/immunotherapy is administered)
• Radiation Therapy certificate course (Required for RNs working in radiation departments)
• 1 year of experience (Required)
• CRT-Oncology Certified Nurse - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation OCN Certification (or other applicable Oncology specialty/leadership certification) (1 Year preferred)

Schedule

• Part-time, 20 hours per week
• Every other weekend plus 1 to 2 weekdays each week
• Weekend shifts: 6 hours (7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
• Weekday hours: Variable (7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
• Days worked: Variable
