About the role
We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members; assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity; and maintaining involvement in activities aimed at achieving unit and departmental strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Achieves learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and other group or discipline needs.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanations of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and communication style.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
This job requires proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to present information clearly and professionally, are essential. Good organizational and time management skills, as well as good interpersonal skills, are also required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor’s Degree In Nursing preferred.
- No prior work experience required.
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Certification in Clinical Specialty Area preferred.
Skills

Travel Expectations
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Travel expectations include Southshore, Northshore, and Baton Rouge locations.
