Location: 199 W Rand Rd, Mount Prospect
Part-time: 20 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, Weekends & Holidays 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (rotating 2×12-hour shifts, 1×8-hour shift, and 1×6-hour shift per week)
What You Will Do
- Develop and evaluate a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes, revising diagnoses, interventions, and outcomes as needed.
- Provide patient assessment and collect health data involving patient, family, and other healthcare providers.
- Communicate the plan of care to patients and families regularly, respecting their perceptions of health and illness and setting mutual goals for optimal outcomes.
- Document patient health data, interventions, and communications; share relevant data with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on cultural background, learning style, barriers, and specific needs (e.g., disease management, emergency care, drug information).
- Identify community resources to support patient self-management of disease.
- Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers, students, and other healthcare providers as colleagues.
- Assign or delegate tasks as needed.
- Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support.
- Assist technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, administration of drugs, oxygen therapy, and IV management.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and nursing research; stay current with wound/ostomy/skin care trends through networking, education, and self-directed learning.
- Support staff in using research and providing evidence-based care.
- If skilled, conduct daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients and monitor treatment plan effectiveness.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in transporting acutely ill patients as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
- 1 year of ICU or ER experience (Preferred)
- 1 year of radiology nursing experience (Preferred)
- 1 year of wound/ostomy experience (Preferred)
- Successful completion of Wound Ostomy Associate class (Preferred)
- Active Illinois State Nursing License (Required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – National CPR Foundation (Required)
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) – WOCNCB (Preferred)
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) – WOCNCB (Preferred)
Pay
Hourly pay range: $36.00 – $55.80 (determined by expertise, years of experience, and other factors)
