RN II - Critical Care

About the role

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization’s vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

  • Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
  • Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Registered Nurse required, preferably in a hospital-based acute care setting.
  • Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required.
  • Current CPR training is required.
  • ACLS is required to be obtained within 6 months of being in the department for the following areas: Cath Lab, CVICU, ED, Eletrophysiology, Endoscopy, ICU, Medical Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Operating Room, Recovery, Telemetry, Surgical/Telemetry, Vascular Access.
  • PALS is required to be obtained within 6 months of being in the department for the following areas: Cath Lab, ED, Eletrophysiology, Endoscopy, Operating Room and Recovery.
  • TGCC or ATCN is required to be completed within 1 year of being in the department for the following areas: ED, ICU, Medical Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU and Recovery.
  • ENPC is required to be completed within 1 year of being in the ED.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Nursing is required.
