About the role
We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, while ensuring quality patient outcomes and maintaining involvement in achieving unit and departmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Achieves learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient groups.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly, serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Evaluates data, information, and knowledge to promote change and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy, explaining services, and communicating effectively.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
Education Required: Registered nurse diploma. Work Experience Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing. Certifications Required: Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice, and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred: Certification in Clinical Specialty Area.
Qualifications
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Skills
Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility. Ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations, and standards. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanations of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and communication style.
