RN ICU Nights 7 PM to 7 AM
About the Role
The Intensive Care RN is responsible and accountable for directing, planning, and organizing the nursing activities on the ICU unit for an assigned shift with a focus on patient, physician, and staff needs. The RN delivers skilled patient care through the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures, coordinates care among patient/family, medicine, nursing, and ancillary and other team personnel, and acts as a patient advocate. The role also involves maintaining current knowledge and standards of professional nursing practice.
Responsibilities
- Direct, plan, and organize nursing activities on the ICU unit for an assigned shift.
- Deliver skilled patient care through the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Coordinate care among patient/family, medicine, nursing, and ancillary and other team personnel.
- Act as a patient advocate.
- Maintain current knowledge and standards of professional nursing practice.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Active Louisiana nursing license in good standing with the Louisiana nursing board.
- Previous clinical nursing experience working in the ICU is desired.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire date.
- ACLS and PALS certifications due within 90 days of hire date.
