RN ICU Mixed Shift

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at St. Mark's Hospital, you’ll have all the staffing support, technology, and resources you need to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. The RN coordinates and delivers care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while modeling a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical provider(s).
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
• Prepare patients and families for future self-management.
• Manage evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.

Requirements

• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Active license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• One or more years of ICU experience required.
