Position Details
Mercy is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a hospital setting. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care and develop individualized care plans.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients and families on treatments, medications, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
- Conduct patient handoffs using SBAR and other patient safety tools.
- Delegate and supervise care provided by LPNs and unlicensed healthcare personnel.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, committees, and professional development activities.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and required competencies.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure: Current RN license in the state of practice or compact state licensure.
- Required Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
- Additional certifications may be required by unit: ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, OCN, CPHON, PEARS, C-EFM, S.T.A.B.L.E., and other specialty certifications.
Physical Requirements
- Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout shifts.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and twisting.
