RN - Head Nurse - Med/Surg

Role Overview The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a specific nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process to make clinical decisions, partnering with patients and families to promote health and well-being. The role requires blending caring, compassion, knowledge, and integrity to provide safe, quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. Key Responsibilities Interpret and review diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement changes.Provide guidance during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention outcomes.Implement innovative practices to enhance patient outcomes.Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.Engage in initiatives to improve healthcare delivery and communicate effectively with team members.Support ongoing learning and complete additional assigned duties. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 2 years experience in the current unit or similar setting.Computer literacy.RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.Preferred: ACLS certification.
