About the Role
The Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility. Under general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and the Nurse Manager, the nurse will rotate between weekends and holidays according to the needs of the facility and function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.
Assignments will be made based on current staffing needs, and the nurse is expected to function independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors.
Responsibilities
- Document total care given and review/maintain patient charts per policy.
- Assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
- Collaborate with the CNO, ACNO, Nurse Manager, staff, physicians, administrators, and peers.
- Promote teamwork between staff, physicians, home health, hospital-owned outpatient clinics, and all other ancillary departments.
- Interact professionally and non-defensively with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
- Assist as directed in problem-solving initiatives across departments.
Requirements
- Must pass a pharmacology test for this position.
- Attendance at yearly mandatory and assigned HealthStream education sessions is non-negotiable; the employee is responsible for arranging and attending.
- Responsible for maintaining all certifications and licensure requirements on time.
