RN - FT Days CICU

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

About the role

This position is located in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). A $30,000 sign-on bonus is available to new hires with experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care using the nursing process.
• Deliver safe and effective care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
• Work in various environments, including indoors, elevated areas, confined spaces, and temperature extremes.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and transferring patients (e.g., transferring a 100 lb. patient may require 50 lbs. of force; pushing a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet requires 20 lbs. of force).
• Use fine and gross motor skills continuously, including pinching, grasping, and reaching in all directions.
• Maintain visual and hearing acuity, including depth perception, color discrimination, and peripheral vision.
• Work in a latex-safe environment and manage stressful situations effectively.
• Work rotating shifts, overtime as required, and be available for on-call duties.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for most nursing areas within the hospital.

Pay

Hourly pay rate, Health-28 pay grade.

Schedule

• 36 scheduled weekly hours.
• Day shift.
• Rotating shifts and overtime as required.
