About the Role

This is a full-time day position covering weekdays, Monday through Friday. The schedule is 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, consisting of four 10-hour shifts per week. No call is required for this position.

As an RN in the Electrophysiology Lab, you will deliver patient care within the scope of the RN Nurse Practice Act, with a focus on patients undergoing invasive, diagnostic, and interventional procedures in the electrophysiology lab.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the predictable or unpredictable health status and needs of patients (individual and family) through interpretation of health data and preventive practices in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Use a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient.
  • Formulate a nursing care plan based on nursing diagnoses and identified problems.
  • Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice, including compliance with applicable laws.
  • Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.
  • Provide education, emotional support, and age-specific care to foster a partnership with the patient and significant others.
  • Manage the care of multiple patients (individual and family) either through direct care or assignment/delegation to other healthcare team members.
  • Evaluate patient (individual and family) responses and outcomes to therapeutic interventions.
  • Apply a critical thinking approach to analyze clinical data and current literature as a basis for decision-making in nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Associate's Degree required.
  • BSN required within 24 months of hire into the RN position.
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or a compact license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in invasive cardiology within the last three years (preferred).
  • Three years of critical care experience (preferred).
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • ACLS certification obtained within 1 year of hire, issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
