RN -Emergency Dept (NIGHTS)

About the Role

This is an exciting 13-week travel assignment at Porter Hospital in Indiana, offering an auto-offer process, no required holidays, no RTO blackout dates, and no on-call requirements. You’ll provide compassionate, high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced 30-bed Emergency Department with a typical patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.

About the Department

The Emergency Department is a 30-bed unit serving patients with a wide range of emergent and urgent medical needs. As an ER RN, you'll work closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to rapidly assess patients, prioritize care, and ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and prioritize patient care based on acuity.
• Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with emergency and urgent medical conditions.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, neurological status, and changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Initiate and maintain IV access and perform appropriate emergency interventions.
• Assist physicians with procedures and emergency interventions.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and discharge instructions.
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Safely manage multiple patients in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Float to other appropriate areas as required by facility needs.

Requirements

• Active Indiana RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience.
• Strong emergency assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills.
• Cerner experience preferred.

Travel Requirements

• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates will not be accepted).
• Current driver’s license required and must match the permanent home address on file.
• Required license and certifications must be attached at submission.

4×12s (night shift), 13-week assignment starting as soon as possible.
