About the Role

The Registered Nurse delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role directs and coordinates nursing care based on established clinical standards and collaborates with other professionals to ensure effective patient outcomes. The Emergency Nurse provides care to patients with urgent or critical illness, triages patients, and offers ongoing assessment, immediate interventions, and discharge teaching.

This position is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit and reports to the Nurse Manager/Director.

Schedule

7:00am - 7:30pm; includes rotating weekends and holidays.

Scheduled weekly hours: 24

Work shift: Day

Work location: 30 Locust Street, Northampton, MA (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
  • Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery.
  • Provide care to patients with urgent or critical illness, including emergency and non-urgent treatment.
  • Triage patients according to care requirements and provide ongoing assessment of their condition.
  • Perform immediate interventions and discharge teaching.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred (experience cannot substitute for degree).
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer into department.
  • De-escalation certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer into department.
  • PALS or ENPC certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer into department.
  • Critical Care RN and/or Emergency RN experience required.

Skills

  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $42.19 - $72.88.

At Mass General Brigham, base pay is determined by skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other factors. The provided range is based on minimum job qualifications and does not encompass the full compensation package, which may include benefits, career advancement opportunities, differentials, premiums, bonuses, and recognition programs.
