About the role

Performs the patient care aspect of diagnostic and interventional EP lab procedures. Preps and recovers patients pre/post procedure. Performs moderate sedation and records vital signs. Maintains continuity of care for patients while they are in the electrophysiology lab, prepares charts for procedures. Operates POC testing as required. The Electrophysiology Registered Nurse must maintain calm while being effective and accurate in critical situations, foster an environment of collaboration and respect, and maintain a positive approach to working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved School of Professional Nursing
  • Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
  • Two years’ experience as a Critical Care Nurse preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintained thereafter
  • Must maintain current certifications/licensure as a condition of continued employment; expiration results in termination
  • Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span
  • Ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret information needed to meet age-specific needs
  • Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence
