About the role
Our McKinney nursing teams serve a very fast-paced, high-volume environment with consistently strong patient census and acuity. The Emergency Department unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients and serves patients of all acuities, ages and stages of life. Staff/Patient ratios are in compliance with ENA Guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in a busy Emergency Department with 23 beds.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, medical terms, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
- Uphold medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse range of parties.
- Apply excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in a high-pressure setting.
- Use basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 2 years of high acuity hospital Emergency Department/ER experience.
- Specialized field of study must be nursing.
- Current RN license.
- BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Schedule
- Full-time nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- On-call and overtime opportunities available.
- 3/12-hour shifts.
