Responsibilities
- Adhere to department and hospital policies, including safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
- Stay current with trends, developments, and regulatory requirements impacting nursing practice.
- Administer, oversee, and document medication administration (topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, and intravenously) as ordered by healthcare practitioners and in accordance with hospital policy.
- Assess patients to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs.
- Gather relevant data for patient care, implement appropriate interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Plan care based on initial and ongoing assessments, providing holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care within the scope of practice.
- Prepare patients for discharge and coordinate post-discharge needs.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in communication and care provision.
- Apply knowledge and skills specific to the patient populations served by the department.
- Engage in professional growth and demonstrate self-accountability to meet deadlines for mandatory requirements.
- Document care delivered and patient status using the nursing process in accordance with standards of care.
- Receive, assess, and ensure the appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness, and execution of physician orders.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state (WA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (CPR).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 12 months.
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 12 months.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months.
- New graduates or RNs without Emergency Department (E.D.) or Critical Care experience must complete the E.D. residency program.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- One year of related work experience in an acute care setting.
- Previous E.D. experience within the last 2 years or critical care experience within the last 2 years.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification.

Pay
$47.86 - $90.42 per hour.
