About the Role

Life Care Center of Stonegate is a beautiful, modern facility with a strong and dedicated staff. The RN Director of Nursing plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Nursing department to ensure the highest degree of quality patient care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Empathy, understanding, and a passion for skilled nursing and long-term care are essential for success in this leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
  • Liaisons with patients, families, and support departments to adequately plan for patient needs
  • Collects, analyzes, and manages data
  • Makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Implements and interprets the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
  • Performs proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintains professional working relationships with associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Understands and follows company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, establishes benchmarks, and directs staff
  • Recruits, selects, hires, trains, evaluates, counsels, and supervises nursing staff
  • Assigns appropriate level of CNAs and LPNs per shift
  • Effectively manages department budget and operates within budget
  • Directs care provided by nursing staff
  • Performs functions of a staff nurse as required
  • Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
  • Assists in the evacuation of patients
  • Demonstrates dependable, regular attendance
  • Communicates and functions productively on an interdisciplinary team

Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an ASN degree from an accredited college or university
  • Currently licensed/registered in the applicable State; must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a post-acute care or related setting
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation; must remain current during employment
  • Expert knowledge in field of practice
  • Knowledgeable of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
