RN – CVICU | St. Helena, CA | 13-Week Travel Contract

About the role

Join a high-acuity cardiovascular critical care team as an experienced CVICU RN with open heart recovery and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) experience. This fast-paced assignment challenges and elevates your skills while caring for complex cardiovascular patients in an advanced critical care environment.

Schedule

Day shift, 12-hour shifts with weekend requirement. No call. Travelers float first when needed, primarily to the Heart & Vascular Unit; ED only if qualified.

Responsibilities

• Recover and manage fresh open-heart surgery patients
• Care for critically ill cardiovascular patients requiring advanced monitoring
• Manage patients with IABP and other cardiac support devices
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and critical care interventions
• Collaborate with intensivists, cardiovascular surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams
• Respond to rapidly changing patient conditions while maintaining accurate clinical documentation
• Deliver safe, evidence-based critical care in a high-acuity CVICU

Requirements

• Active California RN License
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification
• Recent CVICU experience
• Open Heart Recovery experience (Required)
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) experience (Required)
• Cardiovascular critical care experience
• BSN preferred
