Description

As a Critical Care Float RN, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for critically ill patients. You will provide expert nursing care in a variety of critical care environments, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document patient care accurately, delegate responsibilities, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and maintain clinical excellence through ongoing education.

  • Support multiple high-acuity areas in the ICU, ED, CVU, and PACU.
  • Care for a diverse patient population including medical and surgical patients, cardiac patients, neurological patients, and trauma patients.
  • Develop and demonstrate competency in caring for complex critical care patients across multiple specialties.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
  • Minimum two years of recent experience as an RN in one of the following areas: Emergency Department (ED), ICU, ICU Stepdown Unit.
  • Ability to develop and demonstrate competency in caring for complex critical care patients across multiple specialties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Experience in multiple critical care settings.
  • CDU and/or PCU experience.

Where You'll Work

This float position primarily supports critical care departments, including: ICU, ED, CVU, and PACU. Following orientation, you'll be expected to provide care for a broad spectrum of critically ill patients, including: Medical and surgical patients, Cardiac patients, Neurological patients, Trauma patients.

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 6 months.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification within 6 months.

  • Exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and airborne particles.
