Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

Requirements

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
  • 1+ year of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months [Required]
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
  • Licenses And Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) [Required], Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) [Preferred], Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) [Preferred], Basic EKG Certification (BEKG) [Preferred], Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required], Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) [Preferred], Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) [Preferred], NonViolent Crisis Intervention Program [Preferred], Neonatal Resuscitation Program - Advanced (NRP-A) [Preferred], Instructor PALS (PALS-INSTR) [Preferred], S.T.A.B.L.E. certification [Preferred], Trauma Nurse course Certification (TNCC) [Preferred]

  • Knowledgeable in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance [Required]
  • EKG knowledge (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) [Required]
  • Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
  • Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
  • EPIC [Preferred]
