RN Coordinator Trauma PI

About the Role

As an RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator at Fairview Park Hospital, you will lead the Trauma Program’s efforts to ensure safe, high-quality care from patient arrival to discharge. You will collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director to review cases, analyze system performance, and use data to drive improvements in patient care. Your work will ensure compliance with national ACS standards, support program requirements, and demonstrate our commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality trauma care.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze trauma cases—both in real time and retrospectively—to assess quality, timeliness, adherence to guidelines, and alignment with ACS and state standards.
• Identify and validate performance-improvement opportunities, adverse events, and system issues, and support action plans that drive measurable, closed-loop improvements.
• Coordinate and document Trauma PIPS activities, PI events, data elements, and registry information to demonstrate compliance and support trauma center verification.
• Prepare and present selected cases, trends, and quality findings for multidisciplinary PI, peer review, and trauma operations meetings.
• Educate and support clinical teams, residents, EMS agencies, and outlying facilities by sharing trauma PI principles, guidelines, and best practices.
• Collaborate and contribute to guideline development, research initiatives, verification preparation, and ongoing improvements across the trauma service line.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date).
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
• No prior experience required.
• No travel required.
