RN Clinical Supervisor 8A Surgical Transplant, Allegheny General
About the role
The Allegheny General 8A Surgical/Transplant Unit is a 38-bed telemetry unit specializing in the care of abdominal transplant and colorectal surgical patients. Transplant care is provided primarily to kidney and liver patients, and abdominal care may include surgical oncology, pancreas, and kidney. The unit also sees trauma overflow patients.
Responsibilities
- Oversees, monitors, and collects data related to the facility and department's quality and satisfaction measures.
- Serves as the clinical expert and role model for staff.
- Makes sure staff performance is monitored and mentored, and follows up appropriately with staff.
- May perform these duties in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrates effective leadership skills by effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhances professional relationships and achieves desired outcomes.
- Uses the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age-appropriate population.
- Affirms appropriate staffing levels and staffing mix to optimize routine operations within the context of productivity requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree Nursing or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- CPR certification.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Qualifications
- Preferred BSN.
- 3 years’ experience in clinical specialty.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Certification in area of specialty.
