Patient and Family Experience
- Role model YNHH service excellence pledge standards
- Demonstrates value, diversity, and respect, for all people in the work environment
- Ensures the successful execution of service excellence standards for all customers
- Lead and inspire a team of positive, competent, and dynamic individuals
- Ensure confidentiality of patient, staff, and appropriate management data is maintained
- Identify and analyze trends in patient satisfaction scores specific to each specialty area
Staff Engagement
- Encourage and mentor to ensure staff competencies
- Collaboratively engage staff engagement with perioperative specialty
- Lead staff involvement with physicians associated with designated specialty
- Prioritize staffing needs to facilitate complex environment of perioperative services
- Collaboratively works with specialty physicians to promote optimal patient care safety and efficiencies
- Provides leadership oversight into staffing assignments and staffing competency assessment
Quality and Safety: Accountability / Expectation
- Demonstrates knowledge and implements patient safety and quality improvements for the perioperative specialty
- Exhibits ethical and professional responsibility to contribute to patient care, YNHH, and the patients in perioperative services
- Foster collaborative practice to promote safety and quality
- Maintains an environment to assure specialty readiness for all accreditation and regulatory surveys
- Exhibits an open mind to listen, challenge, and influence patient safety and clinical outcomes
Clinical Care
- Serves as the primary physician interface for the designated specialty(s)
- Plans staff and physician education for new equipment and supplies
- Actively solicits physician and staff input for service line enhancement
- Provides direct care 70% of the time - or as needed to support staffing
- Participates in collaboration with management to support the coordination of the overall planning, organization, direction and evaluation of designated perioperative specialty(s)
- Demonstrates the ability to respond to multiple demands at once, prioritize and delegate appropriate tasks to all perioperative team members to facilitate the efficient and safe transition for all patients
- Provides leadership to direct staffing needs on a daily basis
- Collaboratively works with Materials Management, and Central Sterile to ensure accuracy of procedural needs
Financial Management
- Oversight of the perioperative throughput including first case start time and turn-around time
- Provides management of staffing assignments and competency assessment for designated specialty(s)
- Leads specialty services coordination of equipment and supplies to promote optimal cost efficiencies
- Engages physicians and staff in the development of capital budgetary requirements
