The Garner Oncology Infusion Center is seeking an energetic, experienced RN with strong clinical skills in oncology and infusion therapy. The center is part of the UNC Health Cancer Care group, a destination for compassionate, patient‑centered oncology care that uses the latest research and medical technology, offering on‑site chemotherapy education, social work, lab, and an infusion suite. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, closed on major holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self; attends education programs based on identified learning needs; uses patient education materials relevant to the patient population; assesses readiness to learn of patient/family/caregivers; assesses developmental level of patient and factors affecting ability to learn.
• Identifies expected patient outcomes; seeks guidance as needed in revision of plan of care; participates in interdisciplinary team discussion to evaluate patient care; communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
• Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems, including population‑appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational and safety aspects; performs bedside point‑of‑care testing as required; utilizes healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies and procedures; organizes and priorit
