RN Clinical Liaison

About the role
The RN Clinical Liaison is primarily responsible for hospital and medical facility-based outreach to identify new referral sources and maintain ongoing relationships that will increase census and preference for hospice services. Liaisons use their clinical knowledge, empathetic communication skills, and marketing abilities to initiate one-on-one dialogue with referral sources, families, and prospective patients to educate on hospice services. They serve as hospice experts and resources to referral sources to ensure extraordinary patient and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Determine primary decision makers and proactively build positive, solid working relationships with members of the medical community and partners.
- Promote and position Hospice’s patient care services through regular visits in a manner that illustrates and reflects the Hospice’s quality of care and unique capabilities.
- Build the brand of the hospice as the preferred provider in the service area to achieve and exceed agency goals for growth and census management.
- Make regular, planned calls to secure new referrals, build census, and meet established goals with referring physicians, facilities, case managers, discharge planners, social workers in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, and other healthcare providers.
- Assist in determining patient eligibility based on hospice knowledge and training.
- Conduct initial meetings with patients and families to provide an overview of hospice service and philosophy and obtain consents for care.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or healthcare preferred.
- Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse.
- Minimum one (1) year of sales/marketing experience in healthcare.
- One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in hospice/palliative marketing strongly preferred.
- Skilled at establishing and maintaining working relationships with key staff, marketing contracts, and clinical staff to ensure thorough understanding of Hospice services.
- Proven ability to generate and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts, including physicians, healthcare professionals, and community agencies.
- Willingness to drive with reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.

Pay
$80,000 - $87,000 per year. The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position.
