Position Summary The Clinical Educator serves as a key leader in nursing education, professional development, onboarding, and clinical competency across the organization. This role supports the growth and success of nursing staff through education, coaching, curriculum development, and performance improvement initiatives. The Clinical Educator partners closely with nursing leaders and frontline staff to strengthen clinical practice, support quality outcomes, and promote a culture of continuous learning. In addition to educator responsibilities, this role serves as operational leadership support and may act on behalf of nursing leadership during manager absences and administrative coverage needs. What You'll Do Education & Staff Development Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and ongoing education for nursing staffDevelop and deliver engaging educational programs and clinical trainingAssess learning needs and support competency validation processesParticipate in curriculum development and evidence-based education initiativesSupport professional growth, mentorship, and staff engagementServe as a clinical resource and coach across nursing departments Leadership & Operations Support nursing leadership with operational oversight when neededAssist with staffing coordination and department workflow managementServe as acting manager in the absence of the unit managerParticipate in performance improvement and quality initiativesAct as Nurse Administrator On-Call as assignedPromote collaboration across interdisciplinary teams Position Details Title: Clinical Educator Department: Nursing Administration Location: Gateway Regional Medical Center 2100 Madison Avenue Granite City, IL 62040 Status: Full-Time Qualifications Education Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or degree in Education Licensure & Certifications Required: Current Illinois RN licenseCurrent BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)Ability to maintain all required unit-specific certifications Experience Required: Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience Preferred: Previous Clinical Educator experienceOne to three years of leadership, management, or supervisory experienceStrong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills Why Join Gateway?
