About the role
The RN Clinical Education Specialist II in Outpatient Cardiology is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing and clinical staff within the outpatient cardiology setting. This role focuses on improving patient outcomes through staff development, clinical competency assessment, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate orientation programs for new nursing staff in outpatient cardiology
- Design and deliver ongoing continuing education programs for clinical team members
- Assess learning needs of staff and create educational plans to address identified gaps
- Evaluate effectiveness of educational interventions through competency assessments and outcome measures
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to implement evidence-based practice changes
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff in the outpatient cardiology setting
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to patient care and staff education
- Maintain educational records and documentation for compliance and regulatory purposes
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing Education or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in cardiology or critical care
- Prior experience in nursing education, staff development, or clinical teaching
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
